Generally I’m not a desk person. But between the polar vortex & battling the flu I spent a few too many days inside. (During these days I also cleaned out my closet & bedroom, moved all my furniture, hung festive lights and organized my closet by type of clothing.) The result of this is below….
PS. Cleaning & organizing makes me feel weirdly happy…am I alone here?
I wanted to create a place where I could sit & accomplish tasks. 2014 has me feeling very hopeful. I think it is a combination of the big changes that will be happening this year & the accomplished feeling of making it through a tough 2013.
My goal was to create something functional that also represented my personal style. So after lugging my desk out from the garage (all by myself because I’m stubborn & didn’t want to wait for help) I went about my room finding pieces I wanted to use. I just realized that many of these things are vintage/antiques. The lamp, vase, and floral glass (that I’m using for a pen holder) were all given to me by my grandma & the awesome bird print I found at a thrift shop in Ypsilanti, MI for 25 cents. That’s right – a quarter. Can’t beat it!
Anyways, I’m still working on a list of 2014 general goals (I’m not really the resolution type) & hopefully I’ll continue to add to the list throughout the year. I want to know how y’all are feeling about 2014 & what are some of your main goals?
Have a great Tuesday!

Definitely not alone, I love reorganizing and cleaning! And then after I’m done I’m always like “why didn’t I do this sooner?!”. I love everything about your workspace especially the lamp and your goals list. I need to write one of those up! 🙂

I’m glad I’m not the only crazy cleaner! haha thanks!
