Lots of things scare me: the dark, horror movies, Taco Bell, losing people I care about, failure, etc. Currently I’m dealing with one big thing that scares me: uncertainty. At this point in my life many aspects are uncertain, and in the next 6-12 months there will be big changes. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t excited about the unknown future, but I have to admit I’m also terrified. People that have become my family are moving 9 hours away, I’m moving to a completely new house with brand new roommates, I don’t know what I want to do with my degree or where I will be working in the fall. With change comes growth and I recognize and embrace that. Experiences that once scared/intimidated me have led to the greatest personal growth. But its still scary nonetheless. Being a semi control freak person who likes to have control, it is hard for me to just let life happen sometimes. But, from now on I am going to focus on positive thoughts because I know that everything will work out how its supposed to.
Tell me, what scares you?

Girl you so stylish like daaayyyuuumm. Teach me how to do my make up like that. Shoot girl you be killin em.
Hahahaha I love that you put Taco Bell as one of your fears. I prefer Taco Bell tacos over Jack in the Box tacos. How can they even call those food? THE single worst fast food item I have ever eaten.
I commend you on having such a positive attitude about the big changes in your life. It’s scary, and I’m in the same situation. I graduated in May 2012 knowing I didn’t want a career in my degree’s field of study. Graduating was scary because it meant finding out what I’m going to do with my life. Now, two years later, I still have no idea and have been working part-time for a year and a half while living with my boyfriend in his parents’ house. Not exactly ideal.
Anyway, my point is, yes it’s scary but don’t be too hard on yourself to find the perfect career or job right away. It takes time. I think it’s too hard to know what you want to do for the rest of your life right out of high school, or even in high school when applying for colleges. Just try new things, ask friends and family, do some research. Maybe you’ll get a random job you’ll end up loving and you’ll know you were meant to do it. I wish you luck on your bright, even if it’s unknown, future.

Exploring My Style
thanks so much Lauren! I’m trying my best to do what I can but also let things happen – that middle ground. I know I’ll figure it out eventually, and so what if it takes us a bit longer than anyone else!
I wish you nothing but the best as well
Maddy
PS. I know nothing about Jack in the Box so I’m going to assume its worse than Taco Bell 🙂
