I’m excited to be joining the Bloggers Who Budget linkup! I think its extremely important to showcase attainable and affordable style, because I know I get discouraged when I love someone’s outfit and the shoes alone cost $1,000. To me that seems unreasonable and somewhat crazy, but maybe once I’m established it won’t seem so expensive…we’ll see. Anyways…I found this coat at a store I had NEVER ventured in before and probably never will again…Burlington Coat Factory. A co-worker had this coat and I was immediately drawn to the deep green and the front ruffle. I was amazed when she told me she had found it at Burlington for $50 – yes, $50!! I went that night and picked it up. While I love this coat, I’m not sure how often I will be visiting Burlington; it was a little too messy/smelly for my style (at least the one by my office).

I’ve been following your blog on an off and when I saw today’s post, I thought how it was absolutely perfect timing. I’m starting the job search for when I graduate in May and saw that I was greatly lacking professional clothes for interviews and work. My aunt suggested I check out Clothes Mentor on Monroe and to be honest, I was very skeptical because she said it was like “Plato’s Closet for adults.” But wow, does that store have it together. I was able to walk away with 18 different items for under $200 (most expensive item was $15), all that can me mixed and matched for multiple outfits. It’s not every day you go to a consignment store and walk away with fabulous items from stores such as Brooks Brothers, The Loft, DKNY, Ann Taylor, Calvin Klein, and more! Definitely worth checking out for those trying to look fabulous on a budget!
Oh my gosh that’s amazing you found all that! I’ll have to check it out sometime soon
That coat really is adorable! I’m on a bit of a dark green kick these days, so I might have to check out Burlington again one of these days. I went to one about a year and a half ago and was able to find a cute pair of pants for cheap…but the store was really a disaster zone!
Oh yeah- disaster zone is the perfect way to describe that store. Just go in and go directly to the women’s coats!
I love the coat – it’s such a unique shade of green and I love the ruffle detail.
I wouldn’t spend a lot on something so trendy, so this is a total win!

Something About That
The color was definitely what drew me to it in the first place!
As much as I would love to have a HUGE shopping budget, I can’t sadly. The good thing is that there are so many really cute, affordable pieces. And with all the designer collaborations for places like Target, you can really score some amazing pieces. Love that coat! So cute!
