I NEVER used to wear red. Ever. But then this past July I snagged a gorgeous red cross body bag from Banana Republic for a steal, and I became more open to the idea of red. Then, while shopping in December, I picked up this red dress from Forever 21 for the holiday season and the buffalo plaid shirt I’m wearing in these photos (from H&M). I used to shy away from red because I felt that it wasn’t flattering on my skintone, but now that I’ve purchased a few red pieces, the color is definitely growing on me. When I look at colors I see friendly and aggressive colors;ย even different shades of the same color I view as friendly and aggressive. Red has always been an aggressive color for me, so I’m working on incorporating it into my wardrobe more. I seem to have a thing for red, black and, leopard. (see below)
Sidenote: how gorgeous is this Ora Delphine bucket bag my mom got me for Christmas? BEAUTIFUL. You’ll be seeing it often ๐
Tell me, do you have any colors you never wear? And why?
Happy Tuesday!

Thank you- they just seem like they were made for each other ๐
Oh yes, definitely. You will almost never see me wearing brown. I’ll wear camel or tan shades, but brown looks horrible on me, haha! I think it’s because my hair and eyes are a dark brown, so it’s just too much of a brown overload if I wear the color. It’s also hard for me to pull off hot pink, but maybe someday I’ll figure that one out, lol. ๐

Maybe it is just too much brown?! And I think hot pink just takes some time getting used to!
I am loving that red is all over the place right now because its such a beautiful color during the dreary, lackluster months of winter. You look cute in this plaid print!
