My friend Jackie posted a fun outfit the other day with all items that had been in her closet for a year or more. Since fashion changes so quickly, and my tastes continually change, there are not that many pieces that I keep for years and years. While there are basics that I’ve had for what seems like forever (black blazer), oftentimes I’m either buying something completely new and different or replacing something old.
Everything I’m wearing here I have had over a year. The striped tank is from summer 2013, the pants from spring 2013, the sweater from 2013 (I’m on my third round of this exact cardigan), and the shoes I have no idea. Which means they are probably older than a year. I figured I would create the brightest outfit I possibly could since the February gloom is starting to get the best of me. Everything is just gray. All the time. I’m hoping for some sunshine this week!
Tell me, do you keep clothing items for a long time? Or do you cycle through them quickly? I’m challenging you to create the brightest outfit you can this week 🙂
Happy Monday

YAY!!! I was so excited to see this post!! I love that you gave this idea a try. Your outfit is so bright and fun, and nothing seems “old” in anyway!

I am awful for hoarding clothes, even when I’m buying new ones! My closet still contains items I had in high school and I still love them!
