One of the mornings we were in Phoenix we climbed Camelback Mountain. I have climbed it multiple times before, but wanted to climb again since it had been 5 years! Alie and I woke up at 6am to beat the heat, and thankfully finished our climb in under 2 hours. Camelback is a super popular place, and we were lucky to climb it on a weekday (apparently the weekends are insanely busy!). Since it’s a short climb, we just carried water with us. I wore my heart rate monitor for all the hikes & climbs we did – mainly because I like to know where my heart rate is at. If you’re ever in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area I would recommend climbing Camelback. Some parts are definitely climbing, where as others you could walk or even jog!
