I didn’t even read the tag before throwing this LUSH romper into the wash. It was under $50 so the thought never even crossed my mind that it would need to be dry cleaned.
Fast forward and I’m putting it on to shoot these blog photos (I wore the same outfit 2 weekends ago but never got the chance to shoot it) and realize it seriously shrunk. As in if I bend over my cheeks are hanging out. (and the front is lower and tight than before…)
Now tell me, WHO SELLS A DRY CLEAN ONLY ITEM FOR UNDER $50?
Nordstorm does. I love them but dangit.
Moral of the story – before washing a new item ALWAYS READ THE TAG on the inside. It should have the material of the item and the washing instructions.
Sadly, this is not the first romper I’ve ruined by throwing it in the wash. I made the mistake of washing my silk J.Crew romper years ago- luckily it didn’t shrink, it just ruined the lovely feeling of silk (but I still wear it).
So, if anyone is in the 5 ft and 100-110lbs range — give me a shout – this cute romp needs a home that isn’t on my body 🙂
PS. it is now on sale for under $30 (WHOOP!) in the two other patterns HERE

[…] This romper – she is definitely a winner. And NOT DRY CLEAN. (We all remember what happened to the last purple floral romper HERE). […]
