Find pre-layered pieces – like this ENGLISH FACTORY dress from ShopBop. I originally posted about this dress a few weeks ago (HERE) and unfortunately it keeps selling out! But, they have restocked two times so maybe you all will get lucky and they will restock again? As of now there is one size Large left (HERE). For sizing – I ended up sizing up with a Medium. The small was a little too short and tight for me to feel comfortable wearing it to work.

To me, pre-layered items have fluctuated in and out of style over the years. I vividly remember wearing a burgundy and orange striped polo with a white long sleeve pre-layered tee underneath (from Limited Too) combined with matching burgundy cargo flared pants when I about 10. It was SO cool.

**I will try to find a picture to share with you all because I was also chubby at 10. So good.

I hadn’t worn one in years until I snagged a sweater from Primark in London last fall. For me, the fake layered items work WAY better than actually wearing layers. I am far too broad in my upper body and way too sweaty to wear a full button down and a sweater around. Not to mention the bulkiness.

So, as you can imagine, I was thrilled to discover this faux-layered sweater dress (because fall is still HOT in Southern California). I’m one of those weird people who plans their outfits for events months in advance, so in case you care – this dress is a contender for Thanksgiving haha.
