and for your entertainment…
Something in me has been drawn to shades of green lately. It started with this H&M skirt (worn here & here), continued with this flannel shirt dress, and is now full blown with these Banana Republic heels, ASOS dress and the teal LOFT skirt I wore on Instagram yesterday. (I’ve even been wearing shades of green to the gym!)
Pantone recently chose a green hue – “Greenery” to be exact – as the color of the year for 2017.
You can read more about it here, but I loved their reasoning, “Greenery bursts forth in 2017 to provide us with reassurance we yearn for amid a tumultuous social and political environment. Satisfying our growing desire to rejuvenate and revitalize, Greenery symbolizes the re connection we seek with nature, one another and a larger purpose.”
I’m not sure about you, but I wholeheartedly agree with that statement.
I’m a big believer that color can evoke certain emotions. We spent weeks choosing a wall color for the physical therapy office I used to work at because we wanted the room to feel open and welcoming when people arrived. Blues and greens are calming, positive colors, whereas red is a more aggressive color. Personally, I don’t like to wear red clothing items – the color feels harsh on me and my skin tone – so I tend to stick to red accessories.
Life has definitely cheap medications india been an adventure this year, so maybe I’m being drawn to green hues to reassure myself that everything will work out how it’s supposed to? Or maybe I’m thinking WAY too much into this. Regardless, what do you think of the color of the year? Is this something you’ve followed before?
Lastly, this dress from ASOS is gorgeous and awesome, but sizing can be weird. Generally I size at ASOS like I do at H&M; I go up at least one size, oftentimes two. For this dress I went up two sizes, ordered the US 6, and it was huge everywhere except my shoulders (naturally). Luckily, my mom was able to dart the back so it wasn’t so bulky and hem it a few inches. Still highly recommend as the dress is beautiful, but read the size chart & you may need a tailor (or a mom!).
I think I’m done rambling for today – enjoy your Hump Day. 🙂
