As I’ve mentioned before, majority of the places I’ve worked have had a more lenient dress code, so I’ve been lucky to be able to have fun with my office style. [[Do you like your office style to reflect your personality? Or is it way too early to even care? (haha!]] That being said, I know there are still plenty of offices out there that aren’t cool with jeans & sneakers. Today I wanted to take some typical office pieces and spice them up with some non-typical office pieces (all while keeping it appropriate!)
I’m a big fan of this split neck LOFT blouse for two reasons: the colors in the pattern & the cut. Flattering, easy to wear and perfect for pairing with tons of different colors, I find myself reaching for it often. The cardigan is a fun pop of color for the winter months, and keeps me nice and cozy in the office.
I wouldn’t generally suggest leather pants for work, but when pairing them with a long blouse and longer cardigan (aka covering your bum), I think they become office appropriate. And, since the pumps are closed toe with a lower heel height, they still fall on the side of office wear (instead of the 5 inch lucite stiletto side…you get the picture).
So, what do you all think? Have I inspired you to remix your fun pieces into your office wear?
Have a happy hump day!

These are the heels you DIY-ed, right? So cute!! Besides the first two years of my career I’ve basically been allowed to wear whatever I want (I’ve even seen girls in short-shorts in my office!) but I still like to step up my game every now and then 🙂

Yes they are! I love having that freedom, especially as someone who cares about fashion!
How cute are you?! I love the unexpected pop of leather, and those heels are amazing!
Isn’t That Charming.
Thank you – I actually DiY-ed the heels after lusting after a very expensive designer pair!
Your outfit is absolutely gorgeous!! Love mustard cardigans, loft blouses and your fuzzy heels are freakin’ fabulous! As for my office wear? Sadly it’s pretty dismal, I work from home… so I’m usually in leggings and my husbands oversized cardigan! 😉 Hope you’re having a great week! xo
If I worked from home that would definitely be me. And on the rare days I do haha I’m always in comfy clothes!
Loving the color palette!

Thanks so much girl. I love it too!
I just moved to a more formal office (no leggings or ripped jeans) and I definitely find myself incorporating interesting patterns and fun shoes so that my outfits don’t get boring. I think your advice here is spot on and I love those shoes! They are an amazing DIY!

Thanks so much girl. Printed pants are the way to go for a dressier office!
Well how FUN are these pumps?! Love ’em, and would be good for the office and out on the town!

Thanks so much girl! they’re too fun!
So cute!! The sales people at my office have to be dressed up, but the people who work in the office don’t have to be, so they are fairly casual. I go somewhere between dressed up and casual – dresses and skirts. I typically wear flats, but mostly because my office is on the second floor and I have to climb a ton of stairs, and I fear falling down the stairs.
Love that mustard cardigan on you! And those shoes are so fun!

Flats are the way to go for sure. I keep tennis shoes in my desk drawer to wear when we walk at lunch (or when I get sick of heels!)
I love how you mixed typical and nontypical here. It’s always fun to mix in something unexpected to the work wardrobe. When I was in an office full time my style was so boring… I would have loved to mix in a touch of leather or fun heels like this!

It can get hard being there all the time, but its definitely fun to express yourself through clothes at work!
I love the leather pants! I don’t know if I’m bold enough to pull off both them and fuzzy shoes though lol.
Thank you Stef! I’m sure you are 🙂
