[I hope its not still horribly cold wherever you are]
Growing up in the Midwest, the first day of spring doesn’t signify much (other than we can say its spring). The weather still does whatever the heck it wants, and it will most likely rain, be sunny and potentially snow in the week following the equinox. Last April it snowed for an entire weekend right before I moved out West, and I was not about it.
Since spring weather can vary greatly, I tend to stick with playful pieces I can layer. This floral blazer is a favorite of mine, and I often turn to it when I want some color but also want to dress for the weather. Jeans, a tee, and a blazer can work well for a day where temperatures start in the 40s and end in the 60s. Since I don’t have to worry about snow, I opted to pair mine with open toed shoes, but on a chillier day you could easily rock ankle boots and a sweater underneath the blazer.
See three other ways I’ve styled this blazer:
A colorful bag is another great way to transition your wardrobe to spring without freezing your buns off. My fall/winter uniform of jeans, ankle boots, a tunic & a jacket can be ready for spring by switching out a few accessories. This Kate Spade Isobel bag has been going everywhere with me (you may have noticed on Instagram), but it really is the perfect size and shape.
I got really lucky a few weekends ago and bought it for a steal, as Nordstrom had 25% off select Kate Spade bags that day plus I had a giftcard balance and a Nordstrom reward to use. It was quite popular though, and I had to drive to the store in Mission Viejo for the yellow version. The sales associate told me they stocked the bags that morning and I purchased the last one at 3pm. The yellow is available at Nordstrom again (here) and also direct from Kate Spade (here).
So tell me, what are ways you incorporate spring style into your wardrobe when the weather isn’t quite cooperating yet? I would love to hear.
Have a great start to your week!
