The temps have been cooling down here lately, and while I’m sad for summer to be coming to a close, I’m excited for everything about fall (well everything except the fact that winter follows behind…but I digress). I love transitional weather because its still warm enough to be comfortable without a sweater, but you can start bringing back out jeans and boots that were put away for the summer. Last year I wrote about dressing for fall while the weather is still warm, since “fall” in California is pretty much still summer [you can read that here], and a few of the tips I shared are relevant today as well.
1.) Keep the bare legs – rock your dresses + skirts with bare legs until you have to give in to tights (I do this every year)
2.) Ditch the sandals – switch out sandals for boots + sneakers
3.) Pair fall colors with lightweight fabrics – skip the sweater and stick to tees, button downs and dresses in fall inspired colors and prints.
4.) Bring on the dark nail polish – clearly I didn’t do that in these photos, but I always end up with darker nails in the fall and winter months
5.) Change the fabrics – suede, leather and knits can be switched out for linen, chiffon and eyelet!
What are ways you transition your style to fall?
Have a great weekend.
