First and foremost – I’ll address the obvious fact that I’m working through a re-branding here. I wanted to wait until I had everything *just right* but at that rate I’d never blog again haha. Over the course of the next few weeks and months I’ll be transitioning my site and social media, but there is a lot that goes into a domain name change – which is why I haven’t done it yet.
As I grow and evolve, so does my site. I am my brand, and it seemed like an appropriate time to start making the change. More to come 🙂
And now, onto today’s post…
There are plenty of tried and true color combinations. These may differ depending on person, but I think oftentimes we get comfortable mixing certain colors and then forget to branch outside that box.
Truly, it was these shoes that inspired the outfit.
After pairing them with a white shirt dress for work a few weeks ago, I knew my next look would include my emerald green midi; one of the best impulse purchases I’ve ever made.
The shoes are red/coral based but include hints of gold, emerald and white, so I grabbed my mustard Zara shell out of my closet + luckily liked how it looked. [my shell is no longer available but Zara has a similar option here] I’ve definitely paired yellow accents with this skirt in the past (in September 2016, November 2016, and October 2017 but never dove completely in by pairing it with a mustard top. I think it’s a nice way to start working fall colors into your wardrobe even if the temps aren’t quite there.
Next up on my color pairings with this skirt? Lilac.
I adored this look Blair Eadie shared (she is a queen!), and realized I have a sweater that is super similar, so I’m going to create my own version of her look.
What do we think? Are we into the mustard + green combination?

thanks for reading!
Love love love this color combo! It’s one of my faves! I feel like that mustard color may as well be a neutral in my wardrobe at this point.
