I originally planned to have a different post go live today (well daily for the last two weeks truly), but it’s not where I want it yet so I’m making this up as I go.
I decided it’s better to start sharing the content Shannon shot for me this past weekend then sit with all these photos for months until I have time to write exactly what I want to say.
So here we are.
I digress.
I’d been eyeing these Zara mules for a solid 6 weeks, and was disappointed when they weren’t available in store when we were in Chicago two weekends ago, so I finally ordered them.
We often want things to be “perfect” before sharing them.
Whether it be an essay we’re writing, a home we’re decorating, a logo we’re designing or an outfit we’re wearing, just to name a few. But, I think we all know that perfect is really hard to achieve for multiple reasons.
First off, everyone’s definition of “perfect” is different. Second, there aren’t enough hours in the day.
So, as a quick reminder for you and me both, let’s try to let go of those unrealistic expectations owe have for ourselves and our lives + give ourselves a break, because getting something done is better than having it perfect. (and it can be edited later haha).
On an outfit note, this wrap top is from LOFT (my first purchase without my employee discount…thank goodness for sales) and I wore it two days in a row last week. I’m not sure if you can tell but the stripes are white and a light tan, so I think it would look just as good with white jeans in the spring/summer. The fabric is lightweight, so it can definitely be a year round blouse. There is also a built in snap in the chest area to minimize wardrobe malfunctions 😉
This leather jacket is a few years old and I’ve shared it on the blog a few times (HERE/HERE ), but barely wore it last winter as it was always too warm to wear working retail. I won’t lie – I’m loving that I get to wear all my heeled boots, thicker jackets and sweaters again. I felt very limited in what I could wear to work last winter since I was always on my feet and the store is kept at a balmy 70ish degrees.
I’m sure I’ll have no shortage of sweater wearing time for the next 6 months though, so Michigan, if you’re listening, I’m all for 50-60 degree days for another month please. 🙂
thanks for stopping by today!
xo, Maddy
