Unless it’s winter and I go to Starbucks in my snow boots + pajamas. Then I’m embarrassing.
Truly, I like getting dressed most mornings. I feel better when I’m put together, and I like getting creative with the pieces I have in my closet. Plus, if I’m going to own all these clothes I better wear them.
I read Liz’s blog post about the Importance of Dressing for Yourself yesterday and it resonated with me (even though she was referring to feeling like herself again post-baby). I get dressed for me. I will take into consideration the event, or who will be there when I’m getting dressed, but at the end of the day I want to feel good and be happy with what I’m wearing, and it doesn’t really matter if someone likes my outfit or not.
We all deal with insecurities sometimes (and weirdly I’ve been more insecure in the last few weeks than in the last year), but I love the quote “what other people think of me is none of my business.”
In terms of style, as long as you’re dressed appropriately it really doesn’t matter what you’re wearing.
Take it from Mary Barra, the CEO of GM. When she was the VP of Global Human Resources she changed their 10 page dress code to two simple words.
You can read more about that here.
So, moral of today’s blog post.

Love this! I used to dress up so much more than I did, but then I started dating a fitness professional (who is in workout pants every day LOL) AND I gained weight and started hating the way I looked. I’ve been trying to get back into dressing up again because it makes me feel GOOD! Oh, and love this dress!
yes, it definitely helps me feel better when I look better (mini confidence boost), but their is something to be said for being comfy 🙂 haha
