Today I wanted to share two easy ways to transition a white button down into your summer wardrobe. While I do switch out my closet when the seasons change, there are some pieces that stay year round, and this white shirt is a prime example of that.
I’m sure I sound like a broken record, but having pieces you love wearing that are versatile can make your options feel endless. I wore this shirt consistently throughout the winter; layered under blazers and jackets and paired with jeans and leather leggings. Luckily, this shirt is lightweight, so it’s just as useful in the spring and summer as it is layered in the fall and winter.
First up: I paired this blouse with denim shorts, the oldest jacket I own (no joke) and my Gola sneakers. (Sidenote – I bought my sneakers back in 2017 but they’re in stock at DSW right now!) It feels a little more pulled together than a t-shirt and shorts, but is still comfortable + cool. Plus, jean shorts and a field jackets are pretty common, so this is a look to recreate with items you already own.

Second, a white on white ensemble. Pairs perfectly with a tan (that I don’t have yet haha), looks chic even when you don’t feel that way, and is a great way to showcase colorful or statement accessories.
These green sandals are from Target last summer, but they have a few sizes still available this year! I absolutely love this shade of green and how it pops with the all white look.
The only downfall to wearing white on white?
Getting it dirty. I feel like I spill things on the regular, so it’s always a challenge for me to wear white, but I love how it looks so I do it anyway haha.
Curious to know – which look do you prefer?
xo, Maddy
