I’m back with five things I loved this past month. August was full of travel, so most of my items revolve around that, but there’s a few other things in there 🙂
Brendan and I flew out to Colorado for my cousin’s wedding, and it was a weekend full of family time, hiking (and we even got to sneak in one night at Arise Music Festival). The wedding was absolutely gorgeous and I’m so grateful we were able to go.
[I wore my pink short suit that I styled 6 ways last week]
We brought a bigger group this time and had the MOST FUN at Splash House in August. Instead of our normal 4 in a hotel room, our group grew to 10 and we snagged an amazing AirBnB for the weekend (backyard photo below). It was great to have more space, our own pool, and be able to grill and cook all weekend!
Even though I’m from Ohio, most of my adult life has been spent in Michigan, and I rarely go back other than to visit my family. Two weekends ago we headed down for a concert and stayed with our friend Annie, who lives in Short North. We did some exploring and I never knew how cute Short North was. I’m actually heading back again this weekend and am looking forward to seeing more!
When we lived in California, I met the owner of a local boutique named Talia. I purchased a few pieces from there, but have kept following the boutique on Instagram even after we moved. I love a lot of the pieces she stocks, and bought four gold filled bracelets from her last month. I’d been looking at them since the spring, because she advertises that they’re pretty indestructible (what I need) and I can now say that they are amazing. I have not taken mine off the entire month I’ve owned them and they look great still even though they’ve been in chlorine, at the gym, in the shower, etc. They’re small, so they don’t bug me to wear all the time and I love how they look. I plan to eventually add more to my little stack! If you’re interested in the boutique – they are very active on Instagram so follow along here.
I found an amazingly affordable ($19.99) faux leather skirt that is flattering + a beautiful shade of tan. I’ve worn it once with this cream cropped sweater (and totally did not get a photo!), but I cannot wait to pair with everything this fall. (Probably going to wear it with my leopard blazer this weekend). As far as sizing, I got a 6, and it fits just right (leather really should never be *that* tight). It’s also available in black and dark green and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t tempted by the green. Here’s the link if you’re interested!
And that’s all for today. As always, thanks for stopping by.

Love that skirt! It’s so cool! I also really love that you wore a short suit to the wedding, it’s so unique and daring! Great five picks!!
