I definitely watched this J.Crew blazer for months before I bought it on sale back in June. I’m glad I waited, because I paid about $65 instead of the retail price of $178 (no way!). You may have seen this leopard blazer already, as I’ve styled it 3 times so far during the #99daysofsummerstyle. Sadly it is only available in one size still, but there is a sweater blazer version that is new for fall (sidenote: I have the gray J.Crew Factory sweater blazer and I adore it – last seen here).
Today I’m sharing 3 ways to style the leopard blazer for end of summer/early fall. Now, if leopard isn’t your forte, you could easily pick a different statement blazer (whether it be floral, striped, or even a bold color) and re-create some of these outfits with the same formula.
This dress is a true winner – comfortable, easy to wear, versatile and an appropriate length for multiple occasions. I don’t know if its because I’m getting older, but I realized the other day that I’ve purchased a good amount of midi skirts and dresses this year haha. I actually styled this dress under the pink blazer from my short suit a few weeks ago. The leopard blazer isn’t as oversized as the pink, so belting it wasn’t an option. But, I wanted to define my waist so I opted to put the belt over the dress + under the blazer. Since the leopard blazer is A LOT, I didn’t to overdo it with the shoes. These Zara mules are simple with a twist, as the clear spices them up. Mine are from last year, but they have a similar pair this year (linked here).
This is definitely my favorite outfit of the three. I adore this skirt and feel SO GOOD in this outfit. It’s a combination of items that feel very “Maddy.” A low chunky heel, a flattering skirt and feminine top with a leopard blazer…get at me haha. I mentioned this skirt in my August Five blog post, and have worn the tan one 3x and the olive green one 2x already. Best $19.99 I’ve spent in a while 🙂
I layered my lace trimmed cami underneath the blazer (pretty sure mine is from LOFT holiday 2017), but if you’re on the hunt there are tons of retailers that sell them. I love that it’s a bit nicer than layering a cotton tee or tank, but is still just as versatile. My only recommendation would be to not zip the lining of the tank into your jeans zipper then get yourself stuck in your friend’s parent’s bathroom….
The simplest way to style a blazer is with jeans + a tee (in my humble opinion). Statement pieces are a great way to spice up the basics you already own and love. This look without the blazer would give off a different vibe completely, but by adding it you’ve elevated your look.
Are you a statement blazer person? If so, what is your favorite way to style them?
Thanks for stopping by!

I just want to shop in your closet (that Staud bag is AMAZING)
I also wish I could order that skirt, but skirts just never suit my height and shape unless they’re maxi…

Girl, thank you! See I don’t love myself in a maxi skirt, so we must just have opposite skirt styles haha!
Looooove the blazer skirt combo, so pretty!!
