October flew by as all the months seem to do lately, but it was jam packed full of good things. Hopefully lots of changes upcoming (stay tuned), but until then – 5 Things I loved this month!
Lizzie was in town in early October, my cousin, her husband and their toddler came to explore GR for their first time, Allison was back in town for a wedding and Devin flew back in to celebrate his birthday. Very very grateful for quality time with all of them!
Rebecca Louise Law’s exhibit “The Womb” is currently at the Frederik Meijer Gardens and we got to see it when my cousin visited. It is AMAZING. Almost a million dried flowers went into the creation of the main piece (above). The exhibit “explores the intimate relationship between humankind and nature.” It will be in Grand Rapids through March 1, 2020. Make some time to see it it you’re local!
I already wrote an entire blog post about downtown Holland, MI and the event I attended earlier this month, but I still wanted to include it in my list as it greatly exceeded my expectations. Definitely check it out here!
I completed the 30×30 Challenge with my friend Kate (of Kate Lately) and we made it harder but making it a no shop month as well. I’m glad I did it, because it’s amazing how versatile 30 pieces can be and how many outfits you can really make with them. BUT, I am so ready to wear my other clothes! I like a little more variety in my life (plus I own plenty of clothing I need to be wearing). We’re moving into our house next week so I plan to do a serious clean out over the next month as we get situated. I have a handful of items I want to add to my wardrobe, but I’m going to make myself sell pieces before anything else comes home with me!
I truly love the seasons and watching them change. When living in California it was so weird to experience 90 degree days in November (as someone who grew up in the Midwest). The last month has been beautiful, and as much as I’m not excited to be cold all the time, I’m looking forward to the slower, cozier pace my life takes on in the winter.
Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you had a great Halloween and let’s gear up for a wonderful month of November 🙂
xo, Maddy
