First off, THANK YOU for your response to Tuesday’s post about pressing pause on life. Your support means so much to me and it’s very therapeutic for me to get things out on the blog. And now,
Since I (and many others) now have a lot more free time, I do want to keep blogging, and I can only write about COVID19 for so long. So, I plan to ease my way back into somewhat regular content. Priorities have shifted, and until I figure out my next career steps, the focus will move even further away from purchasing new.
BUT, that means there is plenty of room for remixing my closet, working to be sustainable through a pandemic, sharing the job hunting adventure, ways to stay positive, and lifestyle + travel content. (Even if no one knows when we will get to travel next.) Today’s goal is to touch on a few of these topics, keep it light, and ask what I can do for YOU. The first few years of blogging I thought I needed to post an outfit everyday no matter what. As I’ve grown, I’ve learned that quality > quantity, in all aspects of life.
I want to provide USEFUL content for you. I understand that running a fashion & lifestyle blog isn’t the most useful thing in general, but if I can offer helpful travel tips, product recommendations, style ideas, more sustainable practices or a healthy distraction, that’s what I want to do!
This pandemic is giving me more time to decide how I want to use this space I’ve created, and I hope to be able to give it a refresh and put some ideas I’ve had for a while into action.
BRAS: I updated my nude bra & bralette. Exciting? Nope. Essential. Absolutely. They are both actually from SKIMS, and I have been quite happy with the t-shirt bra + triangle bralette.
SUMMER DRESSES: After 2 years, I finally found a yellow sundress that fit my qualifications. Yes, I have actually been looking for the right yellow sundress since April 2018, and am happy to say I finally found one. (That is crazy affordable). I wanted a sunshine yellow, tiered cotton sleeveless sundress that was appropriate enough for work but easy to throw on + go in the summer.
I spent all last year lusting over a $350 Ulla Johnson one. Since I am clearly not paying $350 for a cotton sundress, I ordered 15-20 options from 10-12 stores and struck out each time. This year, I found a similar one at Shopbop, but still with a price tag of $295. So, you can imagine my excitement when I scored THIS dress from Target on sale. It’s 100% cotton, which makes me happy in terms of sustainability. I’m looking forward to wearing it when it’s warm + we’re allowed to go places again.
YOGA: I’ve been doing more yoga lately and it has really been helping to calm me down. I use the app Down Dog, which is currently free for everyone until April 1. [And free for healthcare professionals, students and teachers until July 1.]
JOURNALING: I would not consider myself some who journals, but with the new year I wanted to start, even just a little. I wanted to start trying at least a bit, so I’ve been simply bullet journaling a few days a week. Just a few points – how I’m feeling, things that are happening, what I’m looking forward to, current worries/thoughts/ideas/fears. It’s helpful to get those thoughts out and check in with myself every few days.
What do you want to see?
I have some ideas but I am always open to suggestions! If you have the time I’d love to hear from you. Feel free to comment below, shoot me a DM on Instagram, send me an email – whatever works.
Thank you for stopping by. Talk soon!
