hello + happy Friday! As I shared on Instagram stories the other day, these combat boots are a recent addition to my closet as part of Secondhand September. I have a pair of hiker boots, that, while similar, have shearling, which feels more winter than fall + spring. My hope is that these boots become a staple in my closet for fall, winter and spring.
I’m going to keep it real (as always), and one of the reasons I adore combat boots is because they’re comfortable. No heel, I can wear socks (because my feet are cold 24/7), and they look cool. Win win and win.
Today I’m styling them 4 ways for fall (and I’m thinking I’ll do another post with 4 ways for winter later in the year). And maybe a spring version as well. 12 outfits? We got this.
Combat boots paired with a black denim skirt, bold blouse and denim jacket. To me this feels like it would be best early fall (aka now) or spring. I love the juxtaposition of the light wash denim jacket and bold floral blouse against the dark denim skirt and black boots. Easy for weekend, or really whenever the heck you want.
I’ve always been a fan of mixing feminine and masculine pieces and this seemed like the perfect combo. This heart print white ruffled dress was a complete impulse purchase but I love it and will find places to wear it I’m sure. You don’t even need to add the jacket but I thought it was a fun piece. A lot (mixing stars and hearts) but also playful and I’m here for it.
Kept look #3 super simple with my favorite graphic tee, a camel sweater blazer and skinny black denim. Comfortable and put together this could pair with pretty much any boot. The combat boots give the sweater blazer a slight edge, and I know this is an outfit I’ll repeat this year.
Pending on your work environment, pair them with a skirt and blazer. Or a skinny black jean, blouse and blazer. I wore this Old Navy blazer last week and saw they made another version this year! Highly recommend because its a knit and actually comfortable (I need shoulders that stretch). Plus it layers nicely over sweaters for when the really cold days arrive (hopefully months away).
Thanks for stopping by today. Curious to know – are you a combat boot fan? I’d love to hear either way!
xo, Maddy
