Styling one of my favorite (and most versatile) fall/winter items on the blog today. Truly I’m not sure if I should refer to this as sweater? A blazer? A jacket? Because it’s really all of the above. A knit sweater blazer jacket if you will.
This jacket is old from Covet Leisure, and I do know she’s trying to re-stock a similar version, so I’ll let you know when it happens. Until then, here’s a similar style on sale at J.Crew!
For the record – it was a 75 degree NOVEMBER day when we shot these photos. So you’ll see I went for bare legs…mainly because I was sweating after shooting the layered looks haha.
And, might I add, this jacket truly has infinite styling possibilities. I kept it short + sweet with 3 varying looks for this post but here are 5 other ways I’ve worn it in the past year and a half.
paired with black denim + statement boots
with a faux leather skirt + blouse
over a graphic tee + distressed denim
with a turtleneck + straight denim
over a graphic hoodie + skinnies
First up, casual ALLLL THE WAY. Throw it over leggings and an oversized crewneck then add some fun sneakers. Gives the illusion of a being pulled together but you’re actually wearing leggings + a sweatshirt, so you win.
My exact sweatshirt is still available in a few plus sizes, but I’ve linked similar below.
Next, a *slightly* dressier version. And by dressier I mean – paired with pants with buttons. Because that’s where were at in the world of COVID 2020. (At least in the Midwest.) I love the combo of the soft neutrals (cream + tan) with gold jewelry, a straight jean and the leopard mules I’ve been rocking for years.
This sweater is 100% cotton and on sale for under $20 if you’re interested. It’s the perfect simple cream sweater, but you could easily sub this sweater for pretty much any other color and it would still look great! I’m wearing the Edwin Cai Straight Jeans here that I adore and never shut up about. If you’re struggling to find jeans you love I’d recommend checking out this post from October – 5 Questions to Find the Perfect Denim for You!
Last but not least, a “dressy” option. Again, dressy may be a stretch but I wanted to style this with pieces already in my closet. Remember when I raved about how versatile the Aurora Crop Rib top from Athleta was this summer? Still holds true. I paired it with this old skort from Zara then added the jacket + bold accessories.
Those are the 3 (+5) ideas I have for you today, but this jacket serves as a great spring piece as well (in Michigan). If you live in a warmer climate you could rock this more year round. Anyway, thanks for stopping by today. Comment your favorite look below!
