Dramatic Fabrics? Bring them on with Dryel!

At home dry cleaning with Dryel? Heck yes.

If you know me, you know I’m no stranger to bold pieces and dramatic fabrics. Which, as you’d expect, involves some dry cleaning. And truly, I’m the worst at dry cleaning. I’m the person who drops their winter coats off in the spring to clean then completely forgets. So you can imagine my excitement when I was offered the opportunity to work with Dryel for the upcoming year. #thisis28

Dryel allows you to care for your speciality fabrics AT HOME in 3 steps. This is beautiful, because not only is it more cost effective, it’s hard for me to forget to pickup my items when they’re in my home 🙂 I’m going to break their system down for you today:

Step 1: Pre-treat your items!

Which is what this fun little pen I’m holding below is for! You can use this to treat small individual stains. You know, like salsa on a cream sweater haha.

Step 2: Clean with Dryel (in the dryer)

First off, we are cleaning in the DRYER! Not the washing machine. Put your garments (up to 5) and 1 Dryer-Activated cleaning cloth in the reusable Fabric Protection bag. Tumble in the dryer on medium heat for 15-30 minutes. The combination of the cleaning cloth and the fabric protection bag work to steam clean the garments!

Step 3: Hang to release wrinkles + wear

Once your items are done in the dryer, take them out and HANG them up. This helps any wrinkles that are left to fall out. If there are any wrinkles remaining, you can use the Odor + Wrinkle spray as well. From there – we’re good. Truly, that’s it! Your items and ready to be worn (now we just need somewhere to go.)

A few important notes – Dryel is NOT for every fabric. While it is good for items such as: blazers, sweaters and sequins, it is NOT good for leather, velvet, suede or fur. Keep that in mind!

Anyway, I’m hoping to wear this fun sequin jacket (from the lovely Alice & Wonder) for New Year’s Eve…even if I’m only on my couch.
