hello hello hello, coming on here to talk about one of my favorite brands, Athleta. This post is going to cover two specific things: the introduction of more inclusive sizing in store first, then details about the Friends + Family sale second (the sale opens to cardholders March 3rd and the public March 4th). Athleta fans, read on 🙂
First up, the best news – Athleta now has sizes from XXS-3X IN STORE. That’s right, they now have 9 sizing options for you to try, in person, for 70% of their items (about 350 items). This month the number of styles available in should exceed 500, with a goal of extended sizing in all categories by the end of 2021. In addition, Athleta now features size inclusive mannequins in all their stores, and they said every one of their employees would be trained in inclusive sizing. This makes my heart happy. I want people of all shapes + sizes to be able to walk into Athleta and be able to try on in store. Representation matters. (everywhere, all the time).
Before we left for Hawaii, I met up with my friend Sam in store to style + model some of their pieces to show how great they look in different sizes.
Above we’re wearing:
The Rainier Tight (I talked about them in my winter running gear post)
The Ultimate Printed Bra
Triumph Hoodie
Below we are wearing:
Solace Bra (my favorite bra hands down)
Momentum tank in Spacedye Floral (olive + gray)
Salutation Stash Pocket Short (5in) – I’m excited to use these more as the weather warms up.
Sam and I were both happy to see that these shorts fit WELL. No bulging, or cutting off your thigh circulation. They’re made with the same Powervita fabric as the Elation tight, so they feel ah-mazing on. Add side pockets and a nice thick waistband? We’re sold.
And for a more casual but still active + comfy look, we went for:
Elation Camo 7/8 tight
Luxe Coaster Sweatshirt (I love the weight of this, warm without being heavy!)
Lastly, we both tried on the Exhale printed bra (it’s a straight back strap which is lovely!) and different versions of the Elation tight. Sam is rocking the Elation Printed 7/8 tight, which has an ultra high rise. I, on the other hand, have no torso and the Elation Pirouette tight with the ultra high rise comes above the bottom of my ribs haha. On the left I’m wearing the Elation 7/8 tight (my hands down favorite item forever) and it’s still very high rise on me, but my ribs can breathe. Long story short – if you have a longer torso and love high rise – go for the ultra high!

Naturally I stopped back into Athleta after Hawaii as well (surprise) to try on a few new spring arrivals to share with you all. For the record, I’ll be highlighting a few newer items here, but I still stand behind and wear all the pieces I shared this past summer from Athleta.
***In terms of sizing, I generally wear a Small on top (true to size) and an XS on bottom (size down one). There are a few tops I size up to a Medium for – Conscious Crop and Longline Cinch (because LATS) but otherwise a Small is a safe bet for me. Generally I’d say their sizing is consistent throughout the brand.
And now second, the SALE DETAILS – Athleta Friends + Family sale officially starts this Thursday, March 4th, but if you’re a cardholder you can access it early on Wednesday, March 3rd.
If you want to support me and shop through my referral link – that’s here 🙂
Elation 7/8 tight. Forever and ever amen.
Solace Bra
Uptempo Tank
Both the Solace Bra and Uptempo tank are newer and I have to say – I think the Solace Bra is my favorite sports bra ever. No joke.
The Uptempo tank is an awesome tank. Not only is the cut good for pretty much anyone, it’s lightweight and fits well without clinging or needing to be adjusted. It has a higher neckline, and is slim but loose.
The Renew Support Top is back in more colors this spring as well! Athleta actually made a few tweaks which I’m happy about. I have the black from last summer, and took it on both our National Park trips, but the straps aren’t adjustable and I felt like they were slightly too loose. This season’s version fits better as I don’t feel like the top sags down at all anymore. I love how this one coordinates well with the new pattern on the Farallon Joggers (a fan favorite). I think these are definitely cuter on a person than the hanger, plus they’re comfortable, and realistically the closest some of us are getting to actual pants these days haha.
Below I’m wearing the Longline Cinch Bra (I actually bought the mauve color back in the fall and love to wear it under sweatshirts – sort of a bra and tank in one!) And the new printed Printed Salutation Stash Pocket Tights, along with the Point Reyes Bomber Jacket. I’m really into this bomber jacket. I got it before we left for Hawaii and took it with me – it’s water resistant, and has a hood that rolls up into the collar. It’s the perfect mix of function + style and I really enjoy the cut. Expect to see plenty of it this spring. It’s available in both black and white but I would never purchase a white jacket – I know I’d spill immediately haha.

I feel like I threw a lot of information into here so PLEASE feel free to ask any and all questions. Wondering about sizing? How the fabric feels? What workouts to wear them for? I’m your girl. Shoot me a DM on Instagram, comment on the blog – I’d love to help! I also shared a TON of try-ons via Instagram Stories that are now saved as a highlight on my profile. Let me know how else I can help!
