I mentioned over the winter how I’m partnering with Dryel for the year and am way too excited about it haha. I’m a big fan of Dryel at home dry cleaning because it simply makes life EASIER.
But today I want to chat more about how it saves time. Not only does it save the drop off and pickup time to and from the dry cleaner (and truly it’s just one LESS errand to run). But, you can easily combine using Dryel with your typical laundry time – start your Dryel load in the dryer + throw a load of laundry in the washer as well.
I also love how it solves the problem of needing a last minute item dry cleaned but not having time to drop it off and wait for dry cleaning. Handle it at home…boom.
I know in the past I’ve been packing for a vacation and thought “Crap, I should’ve dry cleaned that but now there’s not time.”
DRYEL to the rescue.
I also happen to be the queen of forgetting to pickup my dry cleaning so this is a big win for me. Plus, Dryel is available at Target – so there’s no reason to not pick a package up!
If you’re curious how Dryel works:
The kit comes with a Dryel Stain Pen, so if need be, treat any stains first. (The kit also comes with a Dryel Booster Spray for some of the heavier duty soiled spots). Then, put your item into the Fabric Protection Bag with 1 cleaning cloth. From there, put the bag into the dryer and tumble for 15-30 minutes. It’s truly that simple! (But don’t put other items in the dryer while using it!)
The cleaning cloths can only be used ONCE, but the Dryel Protection Bag is reusable for up to 30 loads!
I love that I can use it on delicate items I would usually hand wash.
If you’re interested in the science behind how Dryel works:
- The heat of your dryer activates the cleaning solution in the cleaning cloth, which then releases a steam that removes body soils and odors from the clothes.
- The Fabric Protection Bag does a good job of protecting (surprise haha) the garment by maintaining the right balance of cleaning agents and heat. It allows the steam to work through the clothes, and then slowly vents the vapors out of the bag and dryer.
Overall it’s been a great product to add to my household + I plan to use it soon as I switch over my closet from fall/winter to spring/summer – a great way to freshen up those delicate summer pieces after being stored for months! I’ll share more on IG stories when I do my clean out!
