Everytime I wear this cape I think of the scene in the Incredibles when Edna is designing their costumes (start at 2:11) and she says “no capes.” I usually say it out loud and then laugh to myself…for some reason it never gets old.
Anyways, I find myself gravitating towards black and white WAY more than I used to. I’m sure part of it is due to the winter and the weather, but I think I’m realizing how much you can do with black, white and a little bit of color. You’re probably sick of seeing these heels and this necklace by now, but I just love how they look with black and white. While both of these pieces are black (or white), I believe they still make a statement. The grid print dress looks great alone, but I loved the idea of it with my blazer cape. I think the combo creates a striking but chic look without being too over the top 🙂 (I’m sure there are people that disagree with this haha).
Regardless, black and white is timeless combination, especially in patterns such as stripes or polka dots. I would recommend finding some great black and white pieces you love and then mixing and matching them with your current wardrobe.
Tell me, are you a black and white fan?
Happy Tuesday!

The color pops are fabulous! I love using blacks, grays or whites as a base, then layering the fun colors or funky patterns over it. Keeps me comfortable with a staple base while feeling like I can explore and have fun.
I totally agree, having a base is nice for building a wardrobe as well and mixing and matching!
You look so cute! I love the pop of pink!
