It’s probably obvious if you’ve been following for me for a while, but I LOVE dramatic fabrics and faux fur is no exception. Not only does it add some sass and texture to an outfit, it’s also cozy and warm, which is necessary as winter ramps up here in Michigan (why did I leave California again?)
I understand that it’s a bit “extra” for lack of a better term, but if you’re interested in adding faux fur to your winter wardrobe and not willing to commit to statement piece like a coat, there are plenty of other options for you to try.
Let’s start small:
I own a faux fur clutch from Target that’s a few years old but I’ve already seen plenty out this season. This is an easy way to try out the style and see if it’s for you. The black is subtle, and can work well all winter long. But if you tend to wear all black in the winter, I would suggest snagging a colorful one to be the statement piece of your outfits.
The three I’ve linked below are all under $40!
Again, they are so warm, but also add a little glam to any outfit. You can keep it casual and pair it with jeans, a sweater and a wool coat, or add it to a dressier look like I did back in 2014!
I do not currently own a faux fur vest, but I’ll gladly share some embarrassing archives of this one from 2014. Look one // two // three (i’m going to stop now haha). Again, it is simple to dress up or dress down the vest, depending what look you’re going for.
The one I’m wearing above is my latest and greatest beauty.
I love her. The woman who works at Tokyo Grill loves her. (She pet my arm when I picked up my take out Tuesday and said “its so cute!”). It’s meant to be.
As I dug through old winter posts (and found this from almost 5 years ago (December 2013) I realized that year to year my tastes vary but don’t change completely. I would say my style has matured in some regard, as I started this blog the week after I turned 21, but all in all it appears I’ve always been “extra” and drawn to clothing that is FUN.
And if you’re like me and all in on faux fur, I’ve linked a handful of colorful coats for you:
Anyone else love faux fur like I do?
