Hello from Quarter 4 and a girl who is WAY behind on her closet updates. Before I dive in I have two reminders:
Reminder #1 – I set out to only add 22 items to my closet in 2022. You can read more about the challenge here.
Reminder #2- I am not counting – swim, workout gear, replacements, needing socks/underwear/bras, hats or event specific items – like bridesmaid dresses, etc. (there’s literally no way haha).
Alright, let’s dive in. First, I AM DEFINITELY OVER 22 ITEMS. And truly, I’m not even upset with myself about it haha.
Did I use up the rest of my 22 spots (+1) in July? Why yes, yes I did. Between my birthday and travel, I hit 23 items in July. After that I did a double challenge in August – it was a no shop month coupled with getting dressed EVERY SINGLE DAY. I documented daily outfit videos on my Instagram and you can scope those out here. And then in September…I shopped – a mix of wishlist items and non-wishlist items.
#17 – Green open back sundress from H&M
#18 – Tulle Puff sleeve bodysuit from Poppy + Stella – linking a similar here.
#19 – The Tote Bag by Marc Jacobs
#20 – Essentials Kids Pullover
#21 – Embellished Target Slides
#22 – New Balance 327s
#23 – Cotopaxi 1.5 Liter hip pack
For a little context, about half the items were random (not pre-planned or something I’d had on my radar) and the other half were items on my wishlist or items I’d had my eye on.
here’s a few snaps of ways I’ve worn them…
#24 – Neutral Oversized Blazer from H&M
#25 – Metallic Long Sleeve Tiered Mini Dress (for my BFF’s rehearsal dinner)
#26 – Brown Venice Flare Athleta Pants
#27 – Green Faux Croc Skirt
#28 – Black + White Printed Wide Leg Pants
#29 – Green + Blue Printed Mod Dress
#30 – Athleta Elation Split Hem Leggings
here’s a few of these pieces from out in the wild..
Additionally, I sold a few items (jeans, pants, jumpsuit) that no longer fit in September, and replaced some basics that had holes, were falling apart, etc. I used some credit card rewards at Old Navy and purchased: Green casual pants, cream and gray basic long sleeves and an oversized black jacket.
I did already snag some items in October and do have a few more things to replace on my list (mainly denim) but I’m picky about jeans and plan to take my good sweet time finding the right pairs.
I plan to share more daily outfit videos on Instagram this month and will *maybe* shoot some blog photos – stay tuned.
Until then, have a great rest of your day!
xo, Maddy
